As founders, Alan and Lucy, we’re committed to sharing our community knowledge with you through this magazine. Since 2010, Home Instead has been dedicated to improving the lives of older people in our community. We print and distribute up to 30,000 copies of the magazine.
You can pick up your copy in pharmacies, doctors’ surgeries, churches, community groups, and supermarkets. Our goal is simple: to give back and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Designed to support your mental health and wellbeing, the magazine offers essential information from support organisations and a directory of community events to help you stay active and connected.
On this page, you can catch up on special events or features throughout the year.

This past week, we’ve been out and about launching the new edition, and the reaction has been fabulous.
First up, Lucy visited the Timperley MS Yoga group, guided by their enthusiastic teacher Jackie (back row, far lft), who is proudly holding the new edition. Featured prominently on the front page, the group expresses their excitement about promoting their friendly and inclusive yoga sessions. “We are all delighted to see the magazine; it’s such a treasure trove of local information,” says Jackie. The Yoga for MS group meets every Thursday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Larkhill Centre in Timperley Village, offering a welcoming environment for all participants.

Katie popped in to see The Stroke Survivors, who were all too busy reading our magazine to look up for a photo! Nick’s group meets every Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm at Waterstones Altrincham, providing a space for connection, friendship, and shared experiences among generally younger stroke survivors. What began with a few attendees has grown to include up to 20 people from the Trafford area. Nick aims to expand these support groups to other areas, helping more stroke survivors regain independence and find community connections.

Alan received a warm reception at St Paul’s Choir, where one of the members had picked up a copy at Asda that morning, and everyone was enthusiastically reading their article. Thankfully, Alan had enough copies for everyone! The choir is open to anyone who enjoys a sing-a-long, including those with dementia or physical disabilities. There is tea, coffee, and biscuits, and often there is cake! The group runs on Fridays at 1 pm during term-time only.
