Vibrant Voices at St. Mary’s Bowdon

Vibrant Voices is a fabulous choir for those living with memory loss, conducted by the talented Clare Morel. The group meets at St. Mary’s & Bowdon Parish Centre every Wednesday at 14:30. It’s a wonderful place to bring a friend, enjoy a chat and a cuppa, and then dive into a joyful sing-along session. The choir is supported by at least seven volunteers who help create a warm and welcoming environment. The lyrics are displayed on a big screen, making it easy for everyone to join in, whether they prefer wartime classics, Abba hits, or songs from musicals like Les Misérables or Phantom of the Opera.

St. Paul’s Community Choir in Sale

St. Paul’s Community Choir is another welcoming group that opens its doors to anyone who loves to sing, including those with dementia or physical disabilities. Conducted by Paula in a friendly and inclusive environment, the choir sessions are held at St. Paul’s Church Hall on Springfield Road in Sale. They meet on Fridays at 13:00 during term time. This choir also offers refreshments, including tea, coffee, and sometimes even cake! The songs range from wartime favourites to modern hits, ensuring there’s something for everyone. One of the highlights is Donald, a remarkable 91-year-old volunteer pianist who brings a wealth of experience and joy to the music.
