Local business woman Una O’Duil, is celebrating a double award win after her home care company Home Instead Banbridge, Newry and Mourne won ‘Best in Professional Services’ at the Women in Business (WIB) Awards. This comes just two weeks after Una celebrated winning ‘Best Place to Work’ at the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) Business Awards.

The WIB awards were held at Belfast’s Crowne Plaza Hotel with Virgin Media O2 Business as the headline sponsor. The awards bring together female entrepreneurs from around Northern Ireland to recognise and reward their contributions to the business landscape.

Una O’Duil was presented with the award by Erin Butler from business support agency, Honeycomb

The ‘Best in Professional Services’ award is presented to someone who consistently exceeds the requirements of internal and external customers.

Home Instead is one of the UK’s leading home care companies. With a focus of relationship-led care, clients are matched to care professionals based on personality traits, with the goal to build a lasting relationship. Home Instead’s service is tailored to the needs of each client and includes meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, medication reminders, shopping and errands

Having run the home care company since 2018 Una is delighted with her achievement and is very excited for the coming year as she looks to focus on the recruitment of more care professionals.

Una said: “I’m over the moon about our recognition in the WIB awards. I know the award says my name on it, but without every member of the team’s hard work over the last 4 years we wouldn’t be where we are today.

“And although it’s been great to receive this award, the last few years have been very tough. The industry faces a large shortage of carers and we as a business are directly impacted by this. I’d like to encourage anyone who is kind-hearted and would like to make a difference to the community to get in touch. You don’t necessarily need to have experience in the care sector as you will receive some of the best training the industry has to offer.”

Una continued: “The ABC Business Awards were amazing to be a part of and I’m very happy my team has been rewarded for their exceptional work. It’s safe to say there is a buzz around the office with the two awards, however, we plan to keep pushing and continue to strive as we believe that everyone deserves exceptional care.”
