Our approach to companionship care is unique – our Care Professionals don’t wear uniforms, making trips to shops and cafes in High Barnet, Finchley, Golders Green or to a local garden centre feel like outings with a friend rather than formal care visits. Each Care Professional is carefully chosen for their warm personalities and interesting life experiences, then fully trained and employed by us with thorough background checks. Many have been with us for years and love what they do – we know happy and valued Care Professionals make the biggest difference in our clients’ lives.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

The genuine impact of companionship shines through in our clients’ experiences. As recently shared on homecare.co.uk, one client’s son noted: “Home Instead provided my mum with first rate, kind and competent carers who would always go the extra mile to look after her and cater for her needs. The carers very quickly became our friends and put their heart and soul into looking after my mum – it was obviously their pleasure to do so and was not ‘just a job’.” These kind words reflect how our team goes above and beyond to care for our clients.

Since 2010, we’ve learned that great companionship care starts with careful matching and thorough training. Our office team works closely with each client to understand interests and personalities, helping create natural lovely strong bonds between clients and Care Professionals. Every team member completes comprehensive training that goes beyond practical skills to include recognising subtle changes in wellbeing. Regular reviews and open communication ensure care adapts seamlessly as needs change.
Life is better when shared with the companionship of others. That’s why we organise regular tea parties where our clients can meet and chat, and support events like the dementia-friendly screenings at Everyman Cinema Barnet. Our Care Professionals absolutely love taking clients on outings. These moments of connection, combined with our support of community initiatives through Age UK Barnet, help people stay actively involved in local life.
