What Home Care Services are available in Odiham

We provide elderly home care in Odiham and nearby villages such as Upton Grey. After discussions with you and your family to explore your needs, we will set up a bespoke care service to provide exactly what you want. This could, for example, comprise just a few visits each week for housekeeping and companionship, it could involve helping you with personal care, or it could even be full time live-in care. We have a particular interest in supporting those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and can also offer specialist support with Parkinson’s disease and other conditions.
Visits by our lovely care professionals will be at regular agreed times, and you will soon get to know and trust the small team coming to see you.

Tailored Home Care in Odiham

Families can easily worry that their elderly parent is not really as capable as the loved one claims to be. This can be a particular concern in rural areas, where help in an emergency might be a very long time coming.
90 year old Peter lived alone and independently in Upton Grey. His legs were not as strong as they used to be and he had only recently lost the use of his car. He was clearly frustrated by the resulting restrictions on his movements, but he certainly was not going to accept “carers”. We offered instead someone to help with the shopping and take him out to the pub. As the relationship grew, he came to accept help with meals, and eventually support with his personal care. His family were astonished, but very pleased.

Trusted Home Care support from experienced care professionals in Odiham

Our care for the elderly covers the full range of domiciliary care services, and can be as extensive and adaptable as the client needs them to be.
Paul gave us this review about our care for his aunt and uncle living in Odiham: “Home Instead carers are doing a very good job of looking after two elderly people, both suffering with dementia. Without the carers’ daily visits, these two elderly people simply could not continue to live at home, as they cannot prepare food, hot drinks, or be trusted to take their medication. They also need help keeping themselves washed and dressed in clean clothes, and their home clean and tidy. Home Instead really does make the difference between living in the family home and going into a nursing home.”

Additional support and activities in Odiham for aging adults

Odiham is a historic village south of Hook, and was the first entry in the Hampshire Domesday Book. Due to its location halfway between Windsor and Winchester, making it a stopping off point for Norman kings, King John built Odiham castle in the early 1200s. The French then besieged him in the castle for two weeks in 1216.
Odiham still has it Pest House, where people with serious infectious diseases would have been confined in years gone by.
If visiting places of historical interest is your thing, you might like to see our review of historic walks in north Hampshire, which has two entries for Odiham.
Locals are often treated to impromptu aerial displays by the Chinook helicopters based at RAF Odiham, which is just south of the village.
