We offer personalised in-home care services in Whitchurch, and for clients requiring longer visits we also cover Highclere, Burghclere, Kingsclere and other nearby villages. Our care will be designed to meet your particular needs, whether that is for someone to help with the housework and the preparation of meals, to assist with your personal care, to look after you overnight, or to live in your house and be available throughout the day. We can offer specialised care for clients living with dementia, Parkinson’s and various other conditions.
Our home care is relationship-based, meaning visits by a small regular team of carefully selected carers whom you will get to know and trust, and who will get to know exactly how to meet your needs.
Our elderly care services are fully flexible and can be adjusted as necessary to meet changes in a client’s needs.
We first met Edith when her daughter Lisa asked us to take her on outings from her care home in Whitchurch; she was there temporarily for rehabilitation following a spell in hospital. When Edith returned home, we continued to support her but with home help – housework and meal preparation.
Unfortunately Edith’s mobility declined and she also became increasingly forgetful. We started providing morning visits to help with a shower, and then also lunchtime and evening visits to address her developing needs. Finally, to continue keeping Edith comfortable and safe, Lisa asked us to provide a full live in care service for her mother.

Our recruitment objective is to find people who really care; people whose empathy for and attitude towards the elderly equips them to deliver genuinely dedicated elderly care services. We then provide our carers with the training, skills and back-up to support clients with dignity, and in the way that families would want for their loved ones.
In a recent review of our care for her parents in Kingsclere, Ginny wrote: “Home Instead has been a great support to my parents over the last year. I am particularly grateful for the way the entire team responded to challenging times. They demonstrated how much they genuinely cared about my parents and us as an entire family. Professional, kind, caring people who do incredible work.”
Whitchurch is Hampshire’s smallest town, with a population of around 7,000.
Much of the town is a conservation area and Whitchurch is described as the gateway to the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Flowing through the town are the crystal-clear waters of the famous River Test, whose course and banks are designated a site of special scientific interest on account of the wildlife.
Laverstoke Mill, formerly a paper mill, now serves as the home of the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery, located two miles upstream.
Among Whitchurch’s numerous listed and noteworthy buildings is Whitchurch Silk Mill, Britain’s oldest operational silk mill, which featured in our guide to places for feeding the ducks around Basingstoke.
