Cottingham Day: 7th July, 2024
Cottingham Day is a busy community-centric fair that captures the heart and soul of this vibrant village, which claims to be the largest village in England! The fun includes a street market with plenty of local crafters and traders, live music, and family activities. Cottingham Day offers a perfect summer outing. This year’s highlights include a funfair and performances by local bands. The event also emphasizes local businesses and charities, providing a platform for them to engage with the community. Cottingham Day was unlucky with the weather, fingers crossed that this year the sun will shine!
Hessle Feast: 14th July 2024
The annual Hessle Feast brings Hessle Square, The Weir and Tower Hill Memorial Park to life with lots of fun for all. The event showcases local artisan producers of food and drink, and not to forget dog treats too! Or this first time this year there will also be a live orchestra. The Eclectic Wind orchestra will be wowing the crowd with a selection of popular music from the movies. Also back by popular demand is the teddy bear stall hosted by Hessle Youth Action. Donated pre-loved teddies will be given a pamper session before being rehomed for a great cause.
Driffield Show: 17 July, 2024
A highlight of East Yorkshire’s agricultural calendar, the Driffield Show offers a delightful blend of rural charm and modern attractions. Celebrating its 144th year, the show continues to showcase the best in local agriculture, horticulture, and livestock. Visitors can explore a wide array of exhibits, from prize-winning cattle, sheep and pigs to stunning flower displays, and enjoy live entertainment, including equestrian events, fun dog show and vintage machinery demonstrations. The food court, featuring regional delicacies and artisanal products, is a must-visit for foodies.
Beverley Folk Festival: 21-23 June, 2024
Kicking off the summer fair season, the Beverley Folk Festival promises an enchanting mix of -music, arts, and crafts. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Beverley’s historic market town, this festival attracts folk music enthusiasts from across the UK. This year, attendees can look forward to performances by folk artists, John Smith + Tara Maclean, Black Umfolosi, Calan + Hase Waits and a Ceilidh Dance Party.
