Who’s Who at Home Instead

This week we're introducing Caroline, our Recruiter

Who’s Who at Home Instead??

Over the next few weeks were going to introduce you the office team who support our Care Professionals to provide outstanding care.  This week we’re talking to Caroline, our Recruiter for Home Instead Beverley & Hull.  Caroline has been with us since January 2020, so has been with us since the very beginning.

What’s your role at Home Instead?

Hi I’m Caroline, I’m the recruiter for Home Instead Beverley & Hull.  It’s my responsibility to source, onboard and retain the highest quality Care Professionals to ensure the quality of care that I would expect for my own family is given to our clients. I work hard to ensure that every candidate that applies for a role with us feels welcome and has a smooth onboarding experience as they start their career with Home Instead. It is also my aim to make Home Instead a place that our Care Professionals want to continue working. I am always trying to come up with fresh ideas to keep them feeling that they are part of a team that cares and appreciates all their hard work!

What did you do before coming to Home Instead?

Prior to Home Instead I worked for a pharmaceutical company as a graphic designer for 10 years. I started there the day after I completed my A-levels as an apprentice in business administration. I was quickly trained up as an artworker designing packaging for medication. After working in the corporate world that was driven by targets it was a refreshing change to join a company that was just starting out that was endeavouring to make a real difference to people’s lives.

What does “To us it’s personal” mean to you?

To me it means that the concerns of our clients, their families and Care Pro’s are my problem to. When we receive feedback from our Care Professionals regarding how they are feeling at work and how we can support them better I enjoy looking for solution to improve their experience. And when talking to a client or a family member that needs some help, I know that just listening to them and their concerns makes all the difference to those who are looking for a care company.

What do you like to do outside of work?

When I am not working or doing volunteer work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies are baking, “playing” the piano and I have recently started learning sign language just because! I am also always on the lookout for a good TV series to binge watch.
