Love to Move Dorset

Love to Move is an age and dementia-friendly seated exercise programme rooted in gymnastics. It uses specially designed coordination and bilaterally asymmetrical movement patterns, which are thought to increase cognitive reserve. Classes are fun, friendly, and welcoming, suitable for all ages, and provide physical, cognitive, and emotional benefits.

PramaLife

PramaLife offers a variety of dementia and age-friendly clubs, carers’ befriending and support groups, and other community activities across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, and East Dorset. Alzheimer’s Society’s Singing for the Brain Christchurch

Singing for the Brain sessions provide an entertaining and interactive experience on the third Wednesday of every month from 10:30am to 12pm. Research indicates that singing improves brain activity, wellbeing, and mood. These group sessions are run by experienced leaders and require no singing expertise—it’s all about participation and the therapeutic benefits of music.

Age UK Bournemouth, Poole & East Dorset

Age UK offers support services for people living with dementia and their carers, including information and advice on local activities and services. They can be reached through their advice line at 01202 530530, available from 8am to 7pm, 365 days a year.
