A light housekeeping service is ideal for clients who may not need personal care but would benefit from help around the home, giving them more time to enjoy the things they love. From meal preparation and taking out the bins to helping with the weekly shop or watering plants at home, we tailor our support to meet each Client’s unique needs and routines. As one family member noted on homecare.co.uk, “Home Instead has given my mum the support she needs to stay independent and comfortable in her own home, all while keeping me updated.”
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

Our aim is to promote independence, ensuring clients can enjoy life at home for as long as possible. Many of our clients enjoy a few hours of support each week, which means we can help them stay active, organised, and connected to their community. For example, we often assist with grocery shopping at local stores in Henleaze or prepare meals so clients have fresh, healthy options available throughout the week. This practical assistance keeps life running smoothly and offers clients the reassurance that someone is there to help.

Our Henleaze and Downend based team, led by Andrew Wood and Rachel James, takes pride in ensuring that all Care Professionals are carefully selected, fully trained, and supported. We employ each of our Care Professionals directly and match them carefully with each Client, which means they’re familiar faces clients come to know and trust. Our one-hour minimum visits allow our team to provide support that is never rushed, giving clients the quality attention they deserve and families peace of mind.
We’re committed to supporting the broader community as well, working alongside organisations like the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness and promote dementia-friendly spaces. We also offer seminars on practical topics like organising lasting power of attorney, making it easier for families to feel prepared and informed.
