Elderly people can quickly become lonely and isolated and so we regularly take our clients out to groups and events including the lunch clubat the Elland Community Hub, coffee mornings at Cross Hills Methodist Church in Greetland, and social groups at Southgate Methodist Church. From just two or three hours each week to 24-hour care, we provide consistent support and reassurance to clients and families across all areas of Elland and Greetland.
Loneliness can have a serious effect on a person’s health and many people just want company and conversation. Home Instead aims to prevent social isolation by providing companionship to all our clients. Every year we publish a What’s On Where (WOW) Guide to Calderdale, to give elderly people in Elland, Greetland, Stainland, Barkisland, Holywell Green and West Vale as well as for our care team. It is a handy reference guide to groups, events and activities aimed at the older generation. The guide covers Elland and Greetlandas well as all areas of Calderdale and used alongside our companionship service can help an elderly person stay active, engaged and happy.
