Charity Tea Dance

Home Instead Cannock and Burntwood held a tea dance in honour of Home Instead Charities' 10th Birthday and raised over £175!

Home Instead is thrilled to announce the resounding success of our Charity Tea Dance held on the 20th of July. The event brought together over 40 guests, including clients, care professionals, families, and members of the public, raising over £175 for Home Instead Charities.

The highlight of the afternoon was a mesmerising performance by the talented Rachel Cooper, whose singing delighted attendees and created a joyous atmosphere. Guests were treated to traditional cream teas, adding a touch of elegance to the afternoon as they socialised and danced.

Adding to the fun, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a raffle featuring over 30 fantastic prizes, generously donated by local businesses and supporters. The event also featured a “Name the Bear” competition, which was won by our client Iris Stone. The original winning name was Stanley but Iris changed it to Gordon after her husband who died a couple of months ago. Iris has become our client for companionship following the bereavement.

The Charity Tea Dance aimed not only to raise funds but also to bring together the community in a celebration of support and care. The funds raised will go directly to Home Instead Charities, supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life for older adults in our community.

“We are overwhelmed by the generous support from everyone who attended and contributed to the success of our Charity Tea Dance,” said Tiegan Norris, Community Engagement Officer at Home Instead. “Events like these highlight the power of community and the positive impact we can make together.”

Home Instead extends heartfelt thanks to  the Stan Bowley Trust for kindly renting the tea sets, crockery and tablecloths, and Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards for donating the beautiful balloons that added a festive touch to the event. We are also grateful to all the volunteers who made the event possible, and to everyone who attended and donated. Their support was invaluable and greatly appreciated.
