We’re partnering with Matilda’s Place and Danemark Court Assisted Living Homes to bring a little festive magic to seniors
As the holiday season draws near, we’re reminded of the joy and warmth this time of year brings. But this season can feel lonely and isolating for many seniors in our community, particularly those who may not have family nearby. At Home Instead Central Hampshire, everyone deserves to feel special and valued, especially during the holidays. That’s why we’re partnering with Matilda’s Place and Danemark Court Assisted Living Homes to bring a little festive magic to seniors who might otherwise go without a gift this year.
We’re calling on you—our friends, and community—to help us make this holiday brighter for the seniors in our area. Through our “Be a Santa to a Senior” initiative, we are collecting gifts to bring holiday cheer to those who may not receive many, or any, presents this season. Every gift, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference to someone who may be spending this time without family or loved ones nearby.
Our Amazon Wishlist (link) contains items that the seniors at Matilda’s Place and Danemark Court would be delighted to receive. From cosy blankets to puzzles and treats, each gift has been thoughtfully chosen to bring comfort, joy, and a sense of connection. After all, it’s not just about the presents; it’s about letting them know they are remembered and appreciated.
We will be collecting gifts throughout the season, wrapping them, and delivering them to the assisted living homes just before Christmas. It’s our hope that when these gifts are unwrapped, they’ll bring joy and show our seniors that their community cares for them. Your support in this initiative allows us to make a meaningful impact—bringing light and joy to those who may feel alone at this time of year.
The holiday season, while joyful for many, can be a difficult time for those who might not have family or friends to visit. As we gather with loved ones, let’s take a moment to remember our elderly neighbours who may not have that same privilege. By taking part in “Be a Santa to a Senior,” you’re not only giving a gift but also raising awareness of the isolation many seniors experience.
If you or a loved one could use a little extra help or companionship this time of year, Home Instead Central Hampshire offers a range of services tailored to seniors’ needs. From in-home care and companionship to assistance with daily tasks, we’re here to make the season a bit brighter for everyone. We know that everyone deserves to feel supported, cared for, and connected, especially during the holidays. Feel free to reach out to learn more about how we can assist.
We are so grateful for anything anyone can do to help. Every item on our wishlist has the potential to bring a smile to a senior’s face and warmth to their heart. Whether you’re able to purchase a gift or simply help us spread the word, your support makes all the difference.
Thank you for joining us in this mission of kindness and compassion. Let’s work together to make this holiday season a memorable one for everyone in our community.
