At Home Instead Central Hampshire, we know how important social connection and mental stimulation are for those living with dementia. That’s why we’re proud to present Singing for the Brain, a fantastic initiative founded by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Singing for the Brain is all about bringing people together through music. These friendly and engaging sessions are designed for people living with dementia and their loved ones, helping them connect, express themselves, and have fun in a welcoming group setting.
Why Singing Helps with Dementia
Music has an incredible way of reaching people, even when words become difficult. Here are some of the wonderful benefits of group singing:

Join One of Our Singing for the Brain Groups
We run four friendly Singing for the Brain groups across Hampshire, and we’d love for you to join us:
📍 Alresford – Alternating Wednesdays, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at St Gregory’s Church, Grange Road, Alresford.
📍 Otterbourne – Alternating Thursdays, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at The Community Hub, Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill Care Home.
📍 Eastleigh – Alternating Thursdays, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Alston House Care Home, Eastleigh.
📍 Winchester – Alternating Fridays, 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at St Peter’s Catholic Church, Winchester.
These sessions are open to anyone living with dementia, along with their family members or carers. Whether you love to sing or just enjoy listening, you’re welcome to come along and experience the uplifting power of music with us.
