Our Central Nottingham team joins our local Alzheimer’s Memory Walk 2024

Home Instead Central Nottingham joins Ilkeston and Hucknall in the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk 2024. Join us on our 7.5-mile walk to raise awareness and funds for dementia care.

Marking ‘World Alzheimer’s Day’: Committed to a brighter future

This September, our Home Instead Central Nottingham & West Bridgford team is proud to join our sister branches in the wider area of Nottingham, Ilkeston and Hucknall for a cause that is close to all our hearts. We are united in our mission to support those affected by dementia in our local community.

On World Alzheimer’s Day, 21st September, our local teams will unite to participate in the Alzheimer’s Society’s Memory Walk 2024. We will embark on a 7.5-mile journey, beginning at our Home Instead Ilkeston and Hucknall office and finishing at our Nottingham office, to raise awareness and support for those living with dementia.

This walk will bring together our local Home Instead family and is a powerful symbol of our dedication to supporting those living with dementia, and their friends and loved ones.

Supporting our community: 3 ways you can get involved

We invite you to join us in supporting this cause in any way you can:

1. Walk with us: Become part of our team and join us on the 7.5-mile walk from Ilkeston to Nottingham. Your presence will help raise awareness and demonstrate solidarity with those affected by dementia.

2. Cheer us on: If you can’t walk, come along and support us along the route. Your cheers and encouragement will keep us going!

3. Donate: Contribute to our fundraising efforts by donating to the Alzheimer’s Society through our JustGiving page. Every donation, big or small, goes directly to supporting essential services, advancing research, and advocating for better policies for those living with dementia.

Why our Memory Walk matters

Dementia is a growing concern in the UK, with over 900,000 people currently living with the condition. Every three minutes, another person is diagnosed. These statistics are more than just numbers; they represent real people in our community—our clients, their families, our friends, and neighbours.

By participating in the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk 2024, we are walking to honour the courage and resilience of those living with dementia, to support their families, and to contribute to awareness and the search for a cure.
