The rich history of Home Instead's Office base- Church Gate Loughborough
Here at Home Instead Charnwood, we are fortunate to be based in one of Loughborough’s most historic streets – Church Gate. This charming and quaint street, known for its character and heritage, is believed to have hosted none other than King Henry VII during the 1480s!
Imagine walking along Church Gate, knowing that over 500 years ago, a king of England may have done the same. It’s thought that Henry VII, the founder of the Tudor dynasty, stayed in this very area during his rise to power. It is said Henry VII visited the town in 1486 and spent the night in a house standing just outside the gates of the Parish Church. This visit to places such as Church Gate, really puts us at the centre of Loughborough’s rich historical tapestry. The stories these old buildings could tell! From the days of royal visits to the thriving market town we know today, Church Gate has been a constant witness to Loughborough’s ever-evolving community and culture.
Today, while the street may look a little different, its historic charm is still evident. The cobbled roads and centuries-old structures remind us of the lives and events that have shaped Loughborough into the town it is today. We are proud to be a part of this incredible history, and even prouder to serve the local community with care, compassion, and respect.
