Admirals Park and Tower Gardens bring a slice of nature to Chelmsford’s Town Centre.
Comprising conservation areas, woodland, and riverside walks ideal for nature enthusiasts, Admirals Park also provides a variety of landscapes and recreational facilities for all ages and interests.
The parkland offers space for bowling, football, cricket, tennis, and keep-fit groups to take place. There is always something going on within the park that you can either take part in or observe.
Access to the park is from Rainsford Road, where there is a car park situated for visitors. The walkways – which are buggy and wheelchair friendly – and cycle paths work their way alongside River Can, which flows its way through the park and offers plenty of scenic spots for a picnic.
If you like a bit of adventure, why not take up the opportunity to experience canoeing at the lake? If that is too much of an adrenaline rush for you, a Pitch & Putt green and angling are also available for those interested in a more relaxed sport…..
Admirals Park is free to everyone and is open all year round.
Central Park opened in 1894 and is one of the oldest public parks in Chelmsford.
Within the park, you will find Central Park Memorial Gardens, a skate park, and a children’s play area. All of which surrounds a beautiful scenic lake, and what better way to admire the lake than over a coffee at the Central Park Café.
There are also hard courts available where 5-a-side Football, Basketball, and Tennis can take place to occupy the children while you admire the park and its ornamental gardens
