Padley Gorge

Based on the Longshaw Estate, which is part of the National Trust, Padly Gorge is a popular spot to go birdwatching in Chesterfield, especially during the spring and early summer months. Visitors during this time will be able to catch a wide range of birds, including the rarer spotted stonechat, wheatear, and ring ouzel.

Hardwick Ponds

This short trail around the stunning Hardwick Ponds is a great route for all abilities. At just 2.6km long, it can be completed in under an hour, and older adults love strolling around this naturally beautiful area and spotting the huge array of wildlife and birds that live nearby.
