Working as a carer is a rewarding career, it suits someone who is caring and compassionate by nature and who gets enjoyment from helping others.
There are no official formal qualifications needed to work as a carer with Home Instead.
Being a good carer is about more than qualifications. It’s about being able to offer a level of personal care to everyone, no matter who they are or what their situation. Of course, qualities such as having empathy, compassion and a genuine desire to help are all important.
Don’t worry if you don’t have much prior experience in the care sector – we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to all our team members.
Our Care Professionals really value their time with clients so they can provide quality care, establish rapport and build meaningful relationships that truly make a difference to people’s lives. For this reason, we have a minimum client visit time of one hour. Our Care Pros are not rushing from client to client and are able to spend the extra time focusing on improving the overall health and wellbeing of their clients.
We are passionate about recognising and rewarding our Care Professionals and our office teams for the time they have stayed with us, supporting our clients and helping us to expand the world’s capacity to care. Our Length of Service recognition badges celebrate long service from one year upwards and can be worn with pride on our Care Pros’ lanyards.
We partner with BHSF network benefits to help our employees make some great savings. Whether that be on your weekly food shop, day trips with kids, holidays or dinner out on date night there is something for everyone. The online site is simple and easy to use and has hundreds of discounts available to take advantage of.
We partner with a leading provider to offer an Employee Assistance Programme that is available to everyone who might need support with personal or work-related problems, which may impact their physical and mental health. This service provides expert and compassionate advice 24/7, 365 days a year for all our employees and their immediate family members. There is also full access to a comprehensive health & wellbeing app, giving our teams access to a plethora of wellbeing resources at the touch of a button.
Quality of life is at the heart of the care we provide. So we always match our Care Professionals with clients to maximise mutual interests and ensure they have the skills needed to deliver personalised care. Our Care Pros are always introduced to their clients prior to their first call, allowing those new relationships to flourish whilst providing reassurance and a friendly, familiar face.
