We are excited to announce that we have recently welcomed Susan as a new volunteer to support our ever-popular Friendship Lunches. Susan has kindly dedicated her time to be a part of this heart-warming initiative, and you’ll find her attending lunches at both of our locations. With her warm and friendly nature, don’t hesitate to say hello or strike up a conversation the next time you attend one of our events.
Volunteers like Susan are the backbone of what we do. Their contributions not only help ensure the success of our events but also offer them a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and support causes close to their hearts, such as our Friendship Lunches.
We had the chance to ask Susan a little bit about herself, and here’s what she shared:
“My name is Susan, and I am 57 years old. I’m married to David, and we have two grown-up children—Laura, who works as a teacher in Mongolia, and Kirsty, who works at a local prison. I’m planning to retire later this year after 28 years with Openreach. I love traveling and visiting different countries, but what I enjoy most is meeting people and having a good old natter! I also volunteer at my local parkrun at Cusworth Hall each week and meet up with a wonderful group of ‘recycled teenagers’ for a cuppa most mornings to put the world to rights. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know everyone through the Friendship Lunches.”
Our Friendship Lunches continue as usual, with the next one happening on 3rd October at Woodfield Farm, followed by another on 17th October at The Highwayman. You can book directly with the venues by calling Woodfield Farm at 01302 311 164 or The Highwayman at 01302 723 559.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us at the office on 01302 369 655.
We are always on the lookout for more volunteers to join us in supporting these wonderful events. It’s a great way to give back to the community while making new friends and contributing to a good cause. Welcome, Susan! We can’t wait to see the positive impact you will bring!
