Discover what to expect when you apply for a rewarding role as a Care Professional at Home Instead Dudley.
Starting out on your journey to a new role as a Care Professional at Home Instead – whether you have worked in care before or you are looking for something new – can often be as daunting as it is exciting.
At Home Instead Dudley, we understand this and have designed a recruitment and induction process that not only looks to match the most suitable candidates with us and our clients, but also supports you every step of the way to the role of a Care Professional in our CQC Outstanding team.
1. Your application to Home Instead Dudley and Sandwell South – From the moment you make an initial enquiry on our website, you are not just an applicant; you’re a potential new member of our family. A warm, friendly phone call from our team will be your first step into the world of Home Instead, discussing how we stand apart from other care providers and how we can match your skills and qualities with the role of a Care Professional.
2. Face to face interview – Getting the right fit is crucial, for both you and us. That’s why for the next step, we invite successful applicants into our office where you can get a feel for how we work and meet the faces behind our home care service. It’s a chance to get to know you, find out more about your work history and/or life skills, for you to understand the job role in detail, and to see if we are the right fit for each other!
3. Welcome Home Day – Once you’ve passed through the interview (and we hope you do!) and you’re ready to go ahead, we’ll let you know about your job offer. Our commitment to you continues as we fund all your training – we value your growth and development. Our ‘Welcome Home Day’ takes place at the office and you’ll also complete comprehensive e-learning modules with some additional face-to-face training sessions to provide you with a solid foundation for your role ahead.
4. Introductions – The very core of our service is our person-centred approach; so we always ensure our new Care Professionals are introduced to their clients properly. More than just an introduction, you’ll be accompanied by experienced members of the client’s team for initial visits, ensuring you get to know the client and their individual care plan, enabling you to deliver outstanding home care that’s as unique as the individuals we look after.
5. Support from our team – Within a structured support of a three-month probation period, you’ll have a designated key player from our office team to support you. Your mentor will support you in completing your Care Certificate and other training elements with confidence.
