At Home Instead Dudley and Sandwell, we are delighted to invite you to our fifth 'Live Well Your Way at Home' event on 3rd October 2024 at Tesco in Tipton.
Dudley has a population of around 323,500*, with one in five people over the age of 65, which is higher than the England average of one in six, and this free event is designed to provide valuable information, resources, and support to help older adults maintain their independence, with a special focus on dementia care.
Come along and join us at the Tesco Superstore, Burnt Tree, Tipton, DY1 4RP for a special event where over 20 local health organisations will come together to provide guidance and practical advice.
Enjoy complimentary refreshments while you chat with our friendly, knowledgeable team and connect with other local organisations.
Whether you’re an older adult, a family caregiver, friend or relative, you will have a warm welcome and this event is a great opportunity to gain valuable insights and information. Find out more about what is available locally, to help us all live well at home and stay active as we age. There will also be a special focus on living with dementia, offering tailored support and resources.
Our ‘Live Well Your Way at Home’ event is here to provide the essential information and support you or your loved ones need to live independently and comfortably at home.
We have partnered with a variety of organisations, including The Alzheimer’s Society, Admiral Nurses, Dudley Telecare Service, Dementia Gateway Services, frailty specialists, empowerment groups, the Home Library Service, and many more.
These experts will be available throughout the day to offer guidance on a wide range of topics.
Whether you’re interested in the latest telecare technology or looking for local dementia support services, our event is designed to help you discover new insights, gain valuable knowledge, and make connections with professionals who can positively impact your life—all in one place.
From discovering the latest in telecare technology to finding local dementia support services, our aim is that you will discover something new with valuable knowledge to make a positive impact on your own life and connect with helpful professionals—all in one place.
Dementia care is a central theme of our event this October. We know that living with dementia or caring for someone who does can be challenging, and also we know that the numbers are bigger. In Dudley in 2020*, there were 2,547 people aged 65 and over living with dementia, representing 3.76% of that age group. This number is set to increase, making it crucial to raise awareness and emphasise the importance of early diagnosis to provide support and slow the progression of the disease as much as possible.
That’s why we’re dedicating a significant portion of the day to practical strategies and advice for creating a dementia-friendly home environment. You’ll learn about tools and resources to assist with daily routines, get tips for safety and comfort, and have the chance to speak with local experts who understand your needs.
This event is an opportunity to learn more about living well as we age, and to meet local organisations, with a focus on practical solutions for those affected by dementia. Whether you are looking for advice, support, or just want to learn more about ageing well and dementia care, this event is for you. Join us on 3rd October 2024, and take the first step towards living well, your way. We look forward to welcoming you!
