Extended Visit Day Care provides longer periods of tailored support during the day, helping clients maintain their independence and well-being at home. This service is vital for older adults who may feel isolated, require help with daily tasks or provide much needed respite for family members and peace of mind knowing that their loved-one is not on their own. These types of visits are traditionally longer than our standard 1-hour visit, 3-8 hours is not uncommon. We have also supported people to attend family events such as weddings or parties so that they can also join in with the fun.

Our Extended Day Care visit addresses diverse needs. We currently have a client with Parkinson’s disease who we see three times a week for 3 hours per visit. This gives his wife chance to catch up with friends, attend her exercise class and run errands without the added stress of worrying about her husband being alone at home. These visits also benefit the client as he has someone different to talk to and he often engages his Care Professional in spirited games of draughts and dominoes!
