At Home Instead East Fife, our companionship care starts with understanding what matters most to our clients, helping them stay connected and engaged in the life they love. We take pride in our carefully selected Care Professionals who share our passion for relationship-led support. Our one-hour minimum visits ensure unhurried, meaningful time together, whether that’s enjoying a cup of tea and chat at home or visiting favourite spots around St Andrews, Cupar, or along the East Neuk coastline. We believe great companionship care feels natural and comfortable, which is why our Care Professionals don’t wear uniforms – it’s just like having a trusted friend pop by.

Companionship is about doing things with, rather than for, our clients, whether that’s tending to the garden together, baking favourite recipes, or enjoying a peaceful walk along Elie beach. Our Care Professionals come from diverse backgrounds, bringing rich life experiences that help create genuine connections with clients. We take time to carefully match personalities and shared interests, ensuring conversations and activities flow naturally. This thoughtful approach means outings to local coffee shops or community groups feel relaxed and sociable, just as they should.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

Led by Euan Lafferty and our experienced management team, we invest heavily in our Care Professionals’ development, celebrating their achievements and work anniversaries. Each team member is fully employed and thoroughly vetted, completing comprehensive training that includes recognising subtle changes in wellbeing – helping prevent small concerns from becoming larger issues. Our office team, including Support Co-ordinator Nicole Davie and Field Supervisor Samantha Burns, provides responsive support for both clients and Care Professionals, ensuring care adapts seamlessly as needs evolve.
We’re actively involved in local initiatives that combat loneliness, including our recent Kiltwalk fundraising efforts. Our partnerships with community groups and participation in local events help us create valuable social connections for our clients. Through our Dementia Awareness Workshops and collaboration with Barclays Digital Eagles, we’re working to build a more connected, supportive community for older adults across East Fife, ensuring our companionship services extend beyond individual visits to create lasting social networks.
