What We've Been Up To So Far in 2025: A Year of Community and Connection!

In 2025, we’ve enjoyed our Coffee Mornings and Sarah’s volunteering at local events. Stay tuned for the upcoming East Hampshire WOW Guide!

What We’ve Been Up To in 2025: A Year of Community and Connection

It’s been an exciting start to 2025 for us here in East Hampshire, with lots of activities and events that have brought people together. One of the highlights has been our weekly Coffee Morning at the Assembly Hall in Alton. We’ve had an incredible response, with over 20 visitors joining us every Wednesday from 10 AM to 12 PM. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to catch up, share ideas, and build connections in a relaxed and friendly environment. If you haven’t already, come along and join us – we’d love to see you there!

Sarah has been super busy too, attending various networking and volunteering events across the East Hampshire area. Some of the highlights include the East Hants Volunteer Fair, where Home Instead generously provided teas and coffees as part of their regular Community Café. Refreshments remain free for those attending the community café itself, but visitors to the volunteer event were invited to make a small donation for refreshments. It’s been great to see so many people coming together to support and learn about local volunteering opportunities.

In addition, Sarah attended the Howden Alton Networking Event, Wellbeing Walks, the Home Instead Information Morning at Cloverleaf Court, and the All Saints Hall Open Sight Meetup. She also joined in at the Peak Center’s Soup & Chat, and the Cuppa Club at Millennium Hall to name a few. And let’s not forget the East Hampshire Veterans Festival, where we were proud to have a stall at the Petersfield Festival Hall alongside the Royal British Legion.

In more family-friendly news, we had the opportunity to volunteer at the Children’s Disney Disco at Alton Community Centre! It was a wonderful event, bringing joy and magic to local children. Volunteers helped create a fun and safe atmosphere for the kids to enjoy the Disney-themed music, dancing, and activities. It’s always amazing to see the next generation having fun and connecting with their community, and we’re glad to have been part of it!

Through all of this, our main goal is to make sure that everyone in the community feels included and connected. We believe that access to information about support groups, social groups, and fun or skill-based activities should be easy to find. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the East Hampshire WOW Guide—your one-stop shop for all the events and groups happening in the area. Whether you’re looking for a place to chat, volunteer, or learn something new, the WOW Guide will keep you informed about what’s on and where.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the launch of the WOW Guide – we can’t wait to share it with you!

2025 is shaping up to be a year of connection and community, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more of you out and about! Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, feel free to join us at any of our upcoming events.
