The Edinburgh Branch of Parkinson's UK runs a varied programme of activities
The Edinburgh Branch of Parkinsons UK already runs a varied programme of activities through its many volunteers.
So when we heard they were starting a new group in Craigmillar we thought we’d better get along to find out what it was all about.
As you’d expect with the title Voice Exercise Group, as well as the social aspect and peer support, we heard all about how Parkinson’s symptoms can affect the strength and tone of your voice.
Louise from Louise Day Voice Coach told us about her work in the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist, how she is branching out on her own now and ran us through some exercises to strengthen our voices.
We all went away with exercises to do at home and smiles on our faces.
The group plans to meet monthly in the Hay Community Hub, 3 Hay Avenue, EH16 4BB with the next meeting on Monday 22nd July between 2pm and 3pm.
Maybe see you there!
