Dementia Support at Epping Forest Libraries

Home Instead Epping Forest is excited to announce a wonderful new initiative in collaboration with West Essex Libraries. Over the next three months, we will be hosting monthly Dementia Information Drop-in sessions across five local libraries in the Epping Forest District. These sessions are designed to offer support, information, and a friendly ear to those living with dementia, as well as for family, friends and carers.

At Home Instead, we provide care to many older people in our local community, we understand the complexities of dementia care, and our years of experience make us experts in providing compassionate, effective, and dignified care and guidance.

Why Is Dementia Care So Important?

Dementia care is vital for ensuring the well-being of those living with the condition. It enhances quality of life by maintaining dignity and engagement, provides safety by minimising risks, and offers emotional support to alleviate confusion and distress. Additionally, it helps manage physical health and supports families by addressing the challenges of caregiving. Our upcoming dementia drop-in events are designed to provide valuable resources and support to families and caregivers, encouraging a community of care and understanding.

What to Expect at the Drop-in Sessions

We understand that caring for someone with dementia can sometimes be difficult, both physically and emotionally. But with years of caring for people living with dementia and supporting their families and loved ones, Home Instead is here to help you and answer some of your questions.

These drop-in sessions will provide a relaxed and welcoming environment where you can have a chat with our knowledgeable team, led by our Community Relations Manager, Maureen. Whether you are living with dementia, caring for someone, or just want to learn more about the condition as part of community learning, you are welcome to come along and get the support you need.

There will be plenty of useful handouts available, covering a wide range of topics that will be beneficial for anyone impacted by dementia. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with others who may be going through similar experiences and to learn more about the resources available in your community.
