Dementia is a condition that touches countless lives worldwide. Here are some staggering facts from The Alzheimer’s Society and a 2019 report by LSE:

  • Every 3 seconds, someone in the world develops dementia.
  • In the UK, approximately 900,000 people currently live with dementia, and this number is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040.
  • Globally, around 50 million individuals lived with dementia in 2019. This number is anticipated to surge to a staggering 139 million by 2040.

During our information session, we will explore the nature of dementia, shed light on its symptoms, and discuss the value of engaging in activities for individuals affected by this condition. This evening is designed to be open and informal, fostering an environment where questions and discussions are encouraged.

Here are some benefits of learning about dementia and how to care for them:

  1. Better Connection: When you know about dementia, you can connect better with your loved ones. It’s like speaking the same language.
  2. Less Confusion: Understanding dementia helps you make sense of confusing situations. You can help without feeling lost.
  3. Comfort for Them: Learning how to care brings comfort to your loved ones. They feel safer and happier when you know what to do.
  4. Less Frustration: Dementia can be frustrating, but when you know what’s happening, it gets easier. You can stay calm and handle things better.
  5. Real Help: Knowing about dementia is like having a guidebook. You can help your loved ones in real, practical ways.
