Adam’s Story
Adam, the son of Susan and Andrew, shares his experience of how Home Instead enabled his parents to stay in their cherished home. With a tailored care plan that evolved over three years and as their needs changed, our team provided assistance with medication, meal preparation, household chores, and personal care. This support not only ensured the safety and wellbeing of Susan and Andrew but also allowed Adam and his family to cherish quality time together.
“Mum and Dad wanted to stay in their own home for as long as possible and the care from Home Instead made that possible. Dad had become increasingly physically frail and both were living with Alzheimer’s. Home Instead advised about an initial care package, which we increased as needed, involving help with taking medication, preparing food, shopping, house cleaning and helping Dad with personal care. The carers were all really kind and professional.”

The care professionals even took care of the cat too! They all went above and beyond to keep Susan and Andrew in their own home for as long as possible.”

Nathan, one of our care professionals, shares his heartfelt memories of caring for Susan and Andrew. From assisting with daily routines to accompanying them to family gatherings, Nathan became an integral part of their lives, embodying the Home Instead ethos of treating clients like family.
Nathan commented: “I supported Susan and Andrew for over two years and on their last wedding anniversary, I played butler and cooked dinner, set the table and served up including wine for them both. The smiles on their faces were wonderful.”
