The Virtual Dementia Bus comes to Epping.

We booked training2care and their Virtual Dementia Bus to come and let us 'experience' the world as someone might, living with dementia.

Virtual Dementia Training run by traing2care.

We were first introduced to this at the National Home Instead Conference in March. Debbie, our trainer, was so impressed with this virtual training she requested we book the bus to come to Epping to let more of the team experience it.

‘This worldwide, scientifically and medically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain and experience of what dementia might be like, allows delegates to enter the world of the person and understand which simple changes need to be made to their practice and environment to really improve lives of people with dementia.’(training2care)

The training2care team and their Virtual Dementia Bus came to our offices on Thursday 4 May. 32 of our staff were able to take part in this fantastic training.

Staff comments included:

Maureen ‘I should imagine someone living with Dementia would feel useless, confused and frightened so the more we and the Community can understand what it is like can only be of benefit.’

Amanda ‘I believe the Dementia bus was a real eye opener. Even though it was very sad to experience the effects of dementia it will also help me to understand and to support my clients living with dementia.’

Nicola ‘I found it such an eye opener and so sad and scary. I’m glad to have had the chance to do it and definitely won’t forget it.’
