Why choose companionship care with us? At Home Instead Epping Forest, our Care Professionals don’t wear uniforms, which keeps things feeling relaxed and friendly. For our clients, this means that a visit feels more like a family member dropping by than a formal service. We believe in giving clients time to enjoy life at their own pace, without rushing through tasks. Our commitment to relationship-led care is at the heart of what we do, allowing each Care Professional to become a trusted, familiar presence in a client’s life.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.
Companionship care
We carefully match Care Professionals with clients to ensure a meaningful bond is created.
Home help & meal prep

Personal care
Assistance with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, always respecting the dignity of your loved one.
Mobility support
Helping your loved one move around their home safely, including transfers and positioning.
Health appointment management
We support you to attend those important health appointments.
Community engagement
We enable you to continue to do the things you enjoy, be it a visit to the garden centre or your local art group.
Transportation
Assistance getting you from A to B, whether it be to go visit a friend or help with your shopping.
Medication management
Ensuring medicines are taken correctly and on time, supporting overall health.
Companionship care solves more than just the issue of isolation; it offers the chance to build a balanced, fulfilling daily life. During an initial consultation, we’ll sit down to talk through what your loved one enjoys, from hobbies and routines to any particular needs. Together, we’ll create a plan that could match you with our Care Professional Steve if you share his love of chess, or include everything from trips to the Bantham and Ongar Bowls Club to attending local events or simply spending time in the garden. For example, our client Betty loves going to the local library, and her Care Professional joins her each week, supporting her to stay active and independent.

The warmth and friendliness that Home Instead Epping Forest is known for wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful team. Our Care Professionals come from varied backgrounds and are selected for their empathy, kindness, and shared values. Every Care Professional receives training from our Head of Care Professional Training, Debbie, covering essential skills and specialist care for conditions like dementia. But just as importantly, we match Care Professionals based on shared interests and hobbies, so clients enjoy a connection that feels natural and familiar.
We love being part of the local Epping Forest community, supporting initiatives that bring people together. We publish a ‘What’s on Where’ guide to local events and groups, full of ideas of new things to do and places to visit. Our monthly Sparkle Magazine is a great source of quizzes, puzzles and stories. While our monthly Memory Lane Café and Dementia Information Drop-ins offer safe, welcoming spaces for socialising and learning. We also partner with Essex Police on scam awareness to keep our clients informed and safe and run events like summer tea dances and line dancing, bringing clients, Care Professionals, and families together for moments of joy.
