In Epping Forest, where we provide care across Ongar, Waltham Abbey, Old Harlow, Chigwell, and beyond, our support covers everything from light housekeeping and laundry to meal preparation and companionship. Unlike other companies, we don’t wear uniforms, making our visits feel more like a friend or family stopping by rather than a clinical care visit. This approach keeps things relaxed and friendly, while also maintaining dignity and respect for each client. As a family-run office with a 10/10 review rating on homecare.co.uk, we’re proud to offer a unique, relationship-focused service that goes beyond ticking off household chores on a checklist. Our Care Professionals get to know each client’s preferences and routines, so it’s never “just another visit.”
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

Helping your loved one move around their home safely, including transfers and positioning.
Health appointment management
We support you to attend those important health appointments.
Community engagement
We enable you to continue to do the things you enjoy, be it a visit to the garden centre or your local art group.

Assistance getting you from A to B, whether it be to go visit a friend or help with your shopping.
Medication management
Ensuring medicines are taken correctly and on time, supporting overall health.
Home help services solve both practical and emotional needs by ensuring clients have a comfortable, well-maintained home while staying socially connected. When we come out to create a Care Plan, we work with families to decide what would be most helpful – whether that’s regular housework, meal prep, grocery shopping, or even some gardening. One client, Mrs. Thompson, loves fresh flowers, so her Care Professional helps her choose a few each week and arranges them around the house. It’s these personal touches that make a real difference, supporting both independence and wellbeing.

Our team of Care Professionals is at the heart of what we do. Carefully selected and trained, many of our team members have been with us for over a decade, embodying the values we stand for. They receive specialist training under Debbie, our Head of Care Professional Training, learning practical skills as well as compassionate care techniques for dementia and other conditions. The Epping Forest office-based team is always on hand to coordinate care, respond to changes, and ensure each client has reliable, continuous support.
Beyond individual care, Home Instead Epping Forest is committed to supporting the local community. We’re active in initiatives like Essex Police’s Scam Awareness program and host Memory Lane Cafés and Dementia Information Drop-ins to keep families informed and involved. We publish a ‘What’s on Where’ guide to local events and groups, full of ideas of new things to do and places to visit. Our monthly Sparkle Magazine for our clients is a great source of quizzes, puzzles and stories. Events like our summer tea dances and support for local activities like Epping at the Movies help create social connections for clients, families, and Care Professionals alike. For us, it’s about creating a community that feels supported and engaged.
