The Exeter & East Devon Respite Care team, here to help every step of the way

Respite day care provides clients with specialised support and supervision, for prolonged periods of time, allowing families to be confident that their loved ones are receiving high quality care, whilst they are away. There are over 6.5 million people in the UK who are caring for their family members. Respite care at home involves a Care Professional moving into the home alongside the client and caring for them, giving their carers a break from time to time. This could be a long term stay or a short break and is flexible to fit the needs of the client and the people who care for them. Our services are available to Home Instead clients across Exeter and East Devon.

Additional support and activities in Exeter & East Devon

We are regularly asked to speak throughout East Devon on subjects such as dementia, scams awareness, older age frailty and the care sector as a whole. The demands of caring for a frail loved one can become overwhelming, and a welcome break often comes in the form of competent respite care. Alongside organisations such as Carers UK, and Age UK we actively encourage care for the carer. Respite is important following hospitalisation or surgery to regain strength following periods of ill health. Working with physiotherapists and district nurses we are able to support our clients’ exercise routines and complex conditions effectively.
