We recently took part in the Aldershot Christmas Cracker Fair, spending the day connecting with our wonderful local community. Join us to find out how it went.
Truth be told, we love a Christmas fair. Getting dressed up and chatting over mince pies is always fun. And this year, the Aldershot Christmas Crack Fair was no different. It was a real community day out with over 35 stalls, a brass band, a nativity farm and donkeys, free children’s Christmas crafts, and face painting. Over 14,000 attended the event organised by our local council (Rushmoor Borough Council) with the help of theAldershot Community Together initiative.
We had a stall sharing information on the care we provide in the community and recruitment opportunities. But it wasn’t just about that- we also brought plenty of festive fun to the fair! Children enjoyed Pin the Nose on Rudolph, writing heartfelt letters to Santa, and guessing how many chocolates were in the jar. These activities were a big hit with the kids and helped raise funds forParkinson’s UK, a cause close to our hearts and one we are standing behind this Christmas.

While we were very much there to join in on the fun, we also wanted to show support because Christmas can be difficult for those less mobile or facing isolation. We were on hand to talk abouthow respite care can help over the Christmas period.
We had so many meaningful conversations with families about how our personalised services can make a real difference in the lives of their loved ones. And we were only too happy to follow up on those conversations once we got back to the office- support is now in place for many more vulnerable.
The other part of our mission to help the community was to share that we are also recruiting. We introduced residents to the rewarding career opportunities at Home Instead, where making a difference is at the heart of everything we do. We are pleased to say that some new faces may join our amazing team very soon.
The day truly captured the warmth and joy of the holiday season. It was wonderful to meet so many members of the Aldershot community, share stories, and raise awareness about how Home Instead Farnborough, Farnham, and Fleet can help make life easier and brighter for families in need of care and support.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat and join our activities. Together, we make a real difference – one conversation, smile, and festive game at a time.
