What skills do I need to become a Home Instead franchisee?
You don’t necessarily need any previous care experience! What we’re particularly looking for is someone with a strong business acumen, good people skills and the confidence and desire to succeed. It would also help if you’ve got good management skills and you’re likeable! You’ll need to develop, drive and steer your business forward, focusing on its financial performance whilst never forgetting that providing quality home care is your ultimate goal.
How much will it cost to invest in a franchise?
You’ll need a working capital of between £120,000 and £150,000. Included within this is the franchise fee of £41,500 + VAT. You’ll also pay a royalty fee of 6.5% of your monthly revenues (+ VAT).
How is a territory selected and how do I know there’ll be a market for home care?
The creation of a territory is based on the potential for franchise growth – so there’ll definitely be a market for your new business. Your territory will have at least 25,000 over-65s. Our team of experts will be there to support you in developing your care operations and in recruiting, training and maintaining a workforce of effective Care Professionals.
After I’ve bought the franchise, how long will it be before I can start trading?
You’ll need some initial support first. This will start as soon as you’ve purchased the franchise, as you’ll be invited to New Owner Induction Support at our National Office. Support on various topics will continue after that. Once you’ve publicised your new office and launched your website, you should start to get a few enquiries coming in over the next few weeks.
What ongoing support will I get from National Office?
The quick answer is a lot! Our large team at National Office provides unrivalled franchise support. After your initial induction, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive programme of tailored support over 180 days. And it doesn’t end there. Our business development team then takes on the responsibility of supporting you – and this support will be available throughout your journey as a franchisee. It’ll include help with every aspect of your business – including marketing, IT, care quality, legal aspects and accounting.
