Our multi-unit franchise owner, Suhail Rehman, was featured in the Daily Telegraph earlier this week, talking about how he is using the new government Kickstart programme to attract young people into the care sector.
We have partnered with Impact Futures to support our franchisees who wish to take advantage of the new scheme which provides funding to employers to create new job placements for young people currently on Universal Credit.
Suhail, whose Home Instead business is growing rapidly, is currently looking to grow his headcount from 200 to 400 CAREGivers and staff for his three Home Instead offices and hopes to fill around 10 per cent of these vacancies through the programme.
Suhail opened his first franchise office in Glasgow in 2013 and has gone on to open a new Glasgow territory as well as one covering Stirling and Falkirk.
Speaking about the Kickstart recruits he is looking to take on, he said, “We are going to train these young people so that they can have a career in our business. These are people who perhaps wouldn’t necessarily reach out to us. But if we can get them over the threshold, they’ll see the culture and values, plus the fact that they can make a difference to someone’s life. Someone with ambition who wants to do some good will be able to grow very quickly with Home Instead.”
With demand for home care services growing at a rapid rate, and a need to attract more people to work in the sector, the Kickstart programme offers an ideal opportunity for the Home Instead network.
We are delighted to see Suhail speaking so enthusiastically about the scheme in the Telegraph. You can read the article in full here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/spark/in-this-together/government-initiative-kickstart/
