Home Instead enters 20th year in business in the UK

2025 is already shaping up to be a successful year for us. We reach our 20th anniversary this year; that’s two decades of transforming the home care sector and becoming the number one franchise in the sector.

We ended 2024 with our final territories remaining, and the year ahead will see many more people join Home Instead and take a franchise from strength to strength.

2024 highlights

It’s the perfect time to look back at what we achieved in 2024. Here are some highlights we’re particularly proud of.

Award wins

Our trophy cabinet saw some shiny new additions, maintaining our position as the top home care franchise, including:

  • The BFA Awards: we won the ‘Brand Awareness Award’ at the end of a year that saw many successful marketing campaigns.
  • Elite Franchise: in its latest list of UK franchises, we’re in the top three; a record we have held for seven years, since the Top 100 list began.
  • Leaders In Care Awards: winning ‘Home Care Provider of the Year’ was a huge testament to our hardworking teams.

Many more awards were won, not only by Home Instead as a franchisor but also our franchisees who were recognised for the fantastic job they do running a care company.

Most recommended home care company

For the 10th year running, we are the most recommended home care company on homecare.co.uk, the TripAdvisor for home care. 38 of our franchises have appeared on the website’s latest top 20 regional lists, more than any other company.

The launch of our podcast

‘Talk Franchise’ is our podcast which launched in 2024. It has been a great opportunity to share our knowledge in areas such as what a franchise has to offer, how you can fund it, and what the home care sector has to offer a franchisee. Hosted by our Franchise Development Manager Luke Spellman, who is the first port of call for our prospective franchisees, the podcast has been very well received. It also features some special guests such as Pip Wilkins, CEO of The BFA.

You can watch the podcast on YouTube or listen to it on Spotify, Apple or Acast.

New Ageing Index

Our marketing campaign, New Ageing Index, surveyed 1,000 people and uncovered the hopes, fears and aspirations of old age. Our franchisees played a key part in the campaign, highlighting the areas that we need to be more accommodating of older people, including fashion, health and politics.

Home Instead continues to be at the forefront of raising awareness of issues affecting older people and establishing how communities can address their needs, and the New Ageing Index gave a fantastic insight. The findings hit the headlines, with several media outlets including the Daily Express publishing the results.
