Celebrating Home Instead Charities 10 year anniversary

Home Instead Charities celebrates 10 year anniversary

We are really proud to be the only national home care company with our own charity, dedicated to preventing loneliness and isolation in ageing adults.

It’s one of the ways we will reach our mission to expand the world’s capacity to care.

This year, Home Instead Charities is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and we have so much to celebrate with them:

  • An incredible 60,000 people’s lives have been positively impacted by the charity’s initiatives
  • They have raised approaching £500,000 ·
  • Supported by Home Instead offices and a grant from the Access Foundation 24 Companionship Cafes have been launched with more to come in the year ahead
  • The Home Instead Charities Lottery has been launched and is now generating income from regular lottery members

Many of our franchise owners have had the opportunity to support the charity through running fundraising events, providing volunteers (and running) the Companionship Cafes and helping us to find the grass roots organisations that need our support.

Commenting on this milestone birthday, Home Instead UK & International CEO and Chair of Home Instead Charities, Martin Jones MBE said, “The charity allows us to reach people we may not otherwise be able to support and that’s something that makes us all very proud.

“My thanks go to our executive director, Penny Hamer, supported by Alicen Thorn and Karen Thompson and our trustees; franchisees Clare Jefferies and Luke Norbury who run our Wimbledon & Kingston and York franchise offices respectively and Diana Stephenson from Calvin Marketing.”

At this month’s board meeting, Victoria Massey from our National Office team was elected to join the board of trustees – welcome Victoria!
