Celebrating Emma's Caring Journey

Today, we take the time to celebrate an outstanding member of our Home Instead Hinckley team, someone whose career in care is an inspiring story – Emma, our Registered Manager.

Living in Hinckley for 17 years and a career path in social care filled with purpose, professional growth, and profound personal rewards, we’d like to take the time to share her story.

Celebrating Care Manager Emma

A Career with Purpose and Promotion

Emma’s start in care began with a love for nursing and a drive to support those around her. While her life unfolded differently from her initial dream of joining the Navy’s medical staff, her desire to care stayed with her.

Starting in a local care home at 18, Emma had already found a love of being around older people when they would come into the pub she lived in for a pint of mild or Whiskey and water! Emma found joy in connecting with older adults and sharing in their stories.

Her commitment to delivering quality care saw her rise through various roles in the NHS, particularly in Older Adults Mental Health, where her passion for dementia care grew ever stronger. Emma’s journey through various care roles equipped her with invaluable skills, propelling her into positions where she could truly make a difference.

Taking on the role of Deputy Manager at Home Instead Hinckley, Burbage, and Nuneaton, she found her calling and was attracted to the way Home Instead do things differently. Emma tells us of a key moment during her interview at Home Instead when a Care Professional came into the room to happily tell the manager about her first visit and this confirmed she was exactly where she needed to be.

“I especially enjoy working with people living with dementia, and I am proud to be a Dementia Champion.” Emma explains. “When I saw Home Instead, it was wonderful to see that a company was really addressing the needs of the clients, enabling people to stay in their homes for as long as possible”.

Leadership at Home Instead Hinckley

Under Emma’s leadership, our team in Hinckley, Burbage and Nuneaton has delivered countless hours of care to adults in our local area.

We’ve celebrated excellent feedback, growth and office moves, faced the challenges of covid, and continued to flourish. Our one-hour minimum visits allow for genuine relationship-led care, and our Care Professionals delight in these interactions.

Our mission is to change the face of aging, and with Emma’s guidance, our collective efforts were recognised with an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), an achievement only 4% of home care companies in England can claim.
