Having unhurried, hour-long visits (minimum) means there’s always time for what matters – whether that’s enjoying morning coffee while planning the day, tending to treasured houseplants, or heading out to watch the boats at Esplanade Cafe. Our Care Professionals arrive without uniforms, making outings to places like Cardwell Garden Centre or shopping in town feel natural and relaxed. Every visit focuses on doing things together, keeping skills sharp and independence strong.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

A daughter recently shared on homecare.co.uk: “We truly appreciate the care, support and kindness given to our mum, by Home Instead, when she was in need. Home Instead gave us a lifeline and was vital in keeping our mum in her own home for as long as possible. In particular, we thank the care pros for their excellent work. Caring is such an important role and not recognised enough. We will forever be grateful.” These natural friendships blossom because we take time to match Care Professionals who share genuine interests with their clients, creating connections that brighten each day.

Led by Directors Liam and Pauline McKitterick from our Inverclyde office, we carefully select Care Professionals who bring natural warmth and genuine interest in brightening others’ days. Many of our team have lived locally their whole lives, coming from varied backgrounds but sharing a true passion for supporting older people in our community. We invest in their development with thorough training and celebrate their dedication – which is why so many stay with us for years, creating those lasting bonds that mean so much to our clients.
Regular memory cafes at Gourock Community Baptist Church bring people together, while our stand at Gourock Farmers Market keeps us connected with local families. Morning walks along the Esplanade or afternoons at Port Glasgow Retail Park showcase how companionship opens doors to community life. Through partnerships with local organisations, we help organise fun days, events and days out to bring joy and connection to local residents’ lives.
