Meet Steve, one of our dedicated local team at Home Instead who exemplifies compassion and professionalism in providing the best care to our home care clients.
At our blog this month, we’re taking a moment to celebrate our heroes at Home Instead Lancaster, those who make our local office a shining light of compassionate and high-quality care. From our visiting Care Professionals in Lancaster, Morecambe and Garstang, to our Care Manager, Scheduling Team and Recruitment Staff based in our local office, we are immensely proud of our dedicated team members that make such a difference to the lives of our clients and their families.
One great example is our Care Professional, Steve. Steve started working with us at the start of this year and although he had not previously worked in direct care, he had experience of finding care for his own father. Plus his operational, general, and executive management experience in the leisure park industry for almost 40 years provided him with really brilliant interpersonal skills. What shone most brightly during Steve’s recruitment and training process with us, was his kindness and empathy – characteristics at the heart of our mission at Home Instead Lancaster.
Steve embraces the opportunity to connect with our home care clients on a personal level, a quality reflective of his own experience. Looking after his father’s care needs, Steve himself had commissioned care through another Home Instead franchise. This personal experience has given him a true understanding and influenced his approach towards caregiving, and this empathy is radiated in his daily interactions with our clients and their families.
It's not just our clients - who have given us nothing but excellent feedback - who appreciate Steve. His Home Instead colleagues frequently comment on his resourcefulness and professionalism, he’s always willing to offer help to others or to seek help as needed. He has a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude, an approach we see in so many of our colleagues, and this not only makes our working environment more supportive and collaborative but also ensures that our clients receive nothing but the best.
While Steve’s story is but one, it epitomises the spirit and determination that each member of our local Home Instead Lancaster family shares. Steve embodies the values of Home Instead and is certainly a Care Professional who we would have to look after a member of our own family.
