Tony will be responsible for finding exceptional Care Professional’s and supporting them through their journey to ensure they are set up for success in caring for our clients.
Tony’s journey in the care field began right after leaving school when he started his first job helping neurodivergent and epileptic young adults. He found the work incredibly rewarding and enjoyed having a positive impact on others’ lives.
He then worked as a bricklayer for a short period of time, but returned to care during the pandemic lockdown when he was furloughed from construction work. With his father battling cancer at the time, Tony realised he wanted a career that was more meaningful and allowed him to make a difference in people’s lives once again.
He took a role as a night carer at a care home in Hailsham, earning his NVQ Level 3 qualification. Tony quickly advanced to become a senior carer and later Head of Care after achieving his Level 5 certification. He discovered a passion for the managerial aspects of care and pursued an award in education and training to become a trainer himself.
When it came time for his next career move, Tony was drawn to Home Instead Lewes District & Uckfield because of our ethos and approach. “I liked the idea of minimum one-hour visits because it allows care professionals to really build relationships with their clients,” he said. “Coming from a care home, it’s great to see older adults receive that personalised one-on-one care while still living independently in their own homes.”
In his recruiter role, Tony will support new Care Professionals through their training and first 12 weeks in the field. He will hold mandatory training days to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care. Tony will also help with supervising Care Professional’s and preparing them for client visits.
When he’s not working, Tony enjoys spending quality time with his young children. Their favourite activities include playing with Avengers toys and Lego. Tony himself has an artistic side, having studied theatre at the BRIT School alongside stars like Adele and Kate Nash. He previously trained as an MMA fighter before an injury sidelined that passion.
We’re excited for Tony to bring his wealth of care experience, his energy and commitment to Home Instead. We are excited to have him as part of the team and are confident he will help us to deliver the highest quality of care to our clients. Welcome, Tony!
