In Liverpool, there are over 75,000 residents over the age of 65 and although many are in good health, living independently at home, a considerable number lack the regular company of others. At Home Instead, we recognise the significance of remaining active and connected in our later years, to foster good mental and physical health. Through having companionship from a like-minded person, you can benefit from engaging in conversation about your best memories, playing board games such as chess, or share another of your favoured activities. For those living alone, having regular company helps combat social isolation and loneliness, both of which can negatively impact a person’s mental and physical well-being.

Companionship can consist of a few visits each week, featuring friendly conversations over tea or participating in enjoyable activities. Our Care Professionals bring a variety of unique skills and interests, such as music, art, photography, and local historical knowledge, plus much more. We proudly support and host a wide array of social events and activities across south Liverpool, which include regular companionship cafés, singing cafés, as well as dementia cafés that we co-host with partners such as Café Memoir at Bridge Chapel, and our regular Singing and Movement Café with Holistic Harmonies in Lark Lane.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.
