We are delighted to be awarded Business of the Year 2024 by our local community.
We are so pleased and very honoured to announce we have been awarded the Twyford Together Business of the Year 2024.
Twyford Together is a group of businesses, charities, volunteers and residents working together for the benefit of the local community. Every year, they open voting for community awards and this year Home Instead Maidenhead, Henley & Wallingford received the accolade.
This award, that is for everyone who works with us, is highly deserved, if we say so ourselves! Our team work tirelessly, everyday to ensure local people stay safe and well in their own homes.
Our care team, out 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, supporting people to live in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. Our team offer companionship to people who may live alone, people who may be living with health conditions that limit them in some way. Our team offer home help services – from whizzing the hoover around, to shopping and meal preparation. And our team help with personal care – from helping button up shirts that arthritic hands struggle with, to assisting at bath time. All this at the time and place our clients need it, with the same care team member, so they develop a trusting, friendly relationship – many people we support say we are now like one of the family! This enables people to stay in the place they have lived for many years, continuing to be part of the community they know, surrounded by memories, friends and neighbours.
Our office team, who support both clients and care team also work tirelessly, during office hours and out as we have an on call system that support people out of hours too. Staying on top of new policies, recruiting new members, training new and existing Care Professionals and supporting them as they start what can often be a new role for them. Our Care team are very special to us and we aim to be an employer of choice within the industry – ask our team, you’ll find they agree! As well as supporting our Care Professionals, our office team not only support our clients, but their families too. Care is usually new to families and we are there to support them every step of the way to ensure they and their loved ones live well with the support, respect and care they deserve.
So our day to day work in the community is vital, yet we also do much more. Outside our core work, we produce the Be A Santa To A Senior hampers for over 120 local Age Concern members, we run Scam Awareness talks in the community, we have been business mentors for local GCSE business studies students, host networking groups for local business people to engage in the community and promote local businesses, and being part of steering groups in the community, working towards making where we live more dementia friendly. We produce articles for our local Age Concern newsletters with tips and advice on getting the most out of our “golden years”.
So a very big thank you to those of you who voted for us as it means a great deal that what our care team and office team do every day is recognised. The whole team work super hard supporting people with high quality care so to be recognised for this is very special to all of us.
