Our dogs Truffles, Barnie and Albus help keep us active and moving during the day.
We’re all animal lovers at Home Instead and some of us even bring our pets to work in the office!
Barnie is a 2 year old Sprocker Spaniel. (Pictured left)
He’s owned by Libby our Care Co-ordinator, he’s usually spends 1 or 2 days a week in the office with her. He likes to spend his days lounging in her bed or on the sofa in the break room. It is unknown exactly when Sprocker spaniels came to be, but it is believed that Scottish gamekeepers bred Springer spaniels and Cockers to make a hardy gundog that could cope with all conditions.
Our newest and youngest member is Albus. (Pictured middle)
He’s a 12 week old West Highland White Terrier who is owned by Jenna our Office Co-ordinator. Albus spends his days in the office snoozing, eating and playing with people’s shoe laces! He loves to see new faces and has enjoyed meeting the caregivers when they pop into the office. Westies originate, as the name suggests, from Scotland and were bred from Cairn terriers by the Malcolms of Poltalloch in the 1800s.
Truffles is our Directors’ Cocker Spaniel. (Pictured right)
She’s owned by Patrick and Fiona, the Owners and Directors of Home Instead Mid Cornwall. She is 5 years old, and is an occasional visitor to the office. Spaniels have been around since the 1600s but Cocker Spaniels were not classified as a separate breed but the Kennel Club until the late 1800s. The name Cocker comes from dog’s original use of hunting Woodcocks.
