The Mid Cornwall Companionship Care team, here to help every step of the way

Companionship care is the most important thing to us at Home Instead Mid Cornwall. Whilst most domiciliary care companies focus on task, our Care Professionals at Home Instead have time to build a good relationship with our clients and enjoy each other’s company.
We estimate over 14,000 people over the age over 65 live alone in St Austell , Bodmin, Wadebridge and Fowey and surrounding areas.

Colin in Bodmin told us “I really enjoy seeing Caroline and Joyce in the week. We have a chat and go out for a walk in Cardinam or Lanhydrock if the weather is good. I stopped driving last year and was becoming housebound. My daughter arranged it all, and I’m so glad she did”.

Why Companionship Care may be right for you

Home Instead Companionship Care helps a person living alone to enjoy social interaction and continue to do the things they enjoy.
We carefully match Care Professionals, so they have the right training and personality to help people. Olive in Fowey has always loved to bake, but was struggling to manage it now her memory wasn’t working quite as well. Our Care professional Fiona helped her by stepping in with the things Olive couldn’t manage and she was able to rediscover her love of baking.
Companionship Care can be getting active in the area to see one of the wonderful gardens such as Heligan near Mevagissey or the Eden Project in St Blazey. In Wadebridge , the café in the The John Betjeman Centre is a favourite.

Tailored Companionship Care in Mid Cornwall

Loneliness is a real issue for older people in our community. Conditions such as Dementia progress more quickly if a person loses social interaction. Frailty and mobility can be reduced in risk if a person keeps active.
During our care consultation, we gather information about a person’s life so far and what they wish for the future. We build a detailed care plan about this, daily routine, activities they enjoy and food and drink they like to have. This information helps a Care Professional prepare for their first visit so they can provide what the client is looking for.
