Digital Skills Courses in Newcastle

Get Online Newcastle is a Newcastle City Council service supporting anyone 18+ living in Newcastle. The service is committed to helping people get online and equipping them with valuable digital skills.

There are a number of courses available to help people who need some support with navigating being online, which is ever more important  now in 2024. Please see below the list of courses they have:

Everything Email, from 24th July to 18th December 2024

  • 1 x 2.30 hour session
  • Venue: City Library
  • Day & Times: Wednesday, 10.00 – 12.30pm

Come along to this session where you can get set up with an email if you don’t have one already. Support is also available with creating folders for your account to better manage your ‘inbox’, show you how to confidently delete unwanted messaged and show you how to identify scam messages. You can also learn how to attach downloaded images and documents to emails.

The first part of the session will be on the classroom computers, and after the break help is available to manage your email account on your personal device and make sure that you are confident in doing this.

Online Basics Course 

  • 2 x 2.30 hour sessions
  • Venue: City Library
  • Day & Times: Tuesday and Thursdays, 10.00 – 12.30pm (either 2 Tuesdays or 2 Thursdays to complete the course)

Intro to Office 

  • 2 x 2.30 hour and 2 x 2.00 hour sessions
  • Venue: City Library
  • Day & time:  Sessions 1&2, Tuesdays, 1.30 – 4.00pm, sessions 3&4 Fridays, 1.00 – 3.00pm

Techy Tea Parties 

  • Venue: City Library
  • Day & time: Thursdays, 2.00 – 3.00pm
