Green Care at Norton is a therapeutic gardening project based at an allotment site in Letchworth. It’s designed to help people improve their mental and physical health, while they learn new skills, enjoy being outside in nature, and socialise with others in a safe space.
Green Care at Norton has three allotment sites across Letchworth where volunteers can help with watering plants, potting seedlings, making hanging baskets, cutting grass, weeding, etc. Tea and biscuits are free. Contact them directly for volunteer opportunities.

The Letchworth Greenway is well known for fitness with all age groups, and it is safe and free from motor traffic. There’s lots to see along the way and benches are dispersed along the paths to enjoy a sit down.
The Greenway runs through Hitchin Lavender which is an absolute must for the café or seeing the lavender plants in summer and sunflowers in late summer. The view of the evening sky is absolutely stunning from the benches along the greenway just off Hitchin Lavender.
