Dmytry’s Journey: Finding a New Life through Care

At Home Instead Northwich & Knutsford, we’re pleased to have welcomed Dmytry from Ukraine to our team, providing him with a fulfilling career in care that helps him find meaningful work and build strong connections within the local community.

Dmytry was one of many who fled Ukraine when the war broke out. Reflecting on his experience adapting to life in the UK, Dmytry shared, “It was initially a challenge as it involved adjusting to a new culture, language, and way of life. However, I found the people here to be welcoming and supportive, which made the transition smoother.”

Dmytry has a successful career behind him working in Ukraine as a software engineer for a technology company. Coming to the UK, he set out to find a job he enjoyed just as much, helping people just as he was helped by members of the community when he came to the UK. He realised there was no better job for him than being a care professional. After researching several care companies, he applied for a job at Home Instead as he was keen to support people in their own homes.

Today, Dmytry provides expert and personalised homecare to older people in the local area, helping them live independently and enjoy a fulfilling life where they’re most comfortable. His work includes personal care, companionship, and home help, all delivered with the highest level of care and dedication.

Nick Hodgson, Head of Operations at Home Instead Northwich & Knutsford, said, “We are delighted to give Dmytry a fulfilling career as a Care Professional. It has been nothing short of success. He is a valuable member of our team and has already made an impact in the community, not to mention the clients love him!”

Commenting on his time at Home Instead, Dmytry said, “Working for Home Instead has been incredibly rewarding. It has not only improved my English language skills by getting to know clients and colleagues, but it has also given me a strong connection to the community.

“The opportunity to engage in meaningful activities, such as reading with clients, has created precious moments of connection and joy. I’m keen to continue this role for some time and I am excited about the opportunities for personal and professional growth that lie ahead.”
