Dementia Action Week 2023

Here at Home Instead Cardiff Barry and Penarth, we are passionate about supporting those living with dementia, along with their families and loved ones.

Our unique and outstanding home care service is not the only thing we offer to our communities.

We currently run two Memory cafes in Penarth and Whitchurch delivering dementia friendly activities and support. We have professional guests from other supporting dementia organisations along, to highlight their services and to offer advice where needed.

We also take activities out to community services and groups, who also support those with a dementia diagnosis. We believe you can live well with a dementia diagnosis, with the right support and access to a variety of different activities and services.

Each day we shall share images of our work, some of it collaborative, to show the joy that can still be experienced within the dementia journey.

This City & Guilds Assured training programme has been created exclusively for the Home Instead network and focuses on caring for the whole person and their experiences of living with dementia. We took advice from the University of Bradford Centre for Applied Dementia Studies, before reviewing and revising the programme. This training is important for all of our Care Professionals to go through so we can help those living with dementia lead the best quality of life possible.
